Family Story
Post Exhibit Time in Paris!
Well our post exhibit time in Paris was wonderful! After a couple days of receptions for the Art Deco Exhibit at Cite de l’architecture et du patrimione we decided to enjoy Paris! It only rained a couple times but the weather was warm so we walked everywhere!
Happy Birthday, Jenn!
Happy Birthday! I want to take time out from my father’s artwork to remember Jenn’s birthday which was this Sunday, November 3rd. What a journey these last two years have been for our family! Who knew that when you started researching my father’s artwork almost 2 years ago that it would lead us back to Paris…
Every Time I Go to Paris
Every time I go to Paris, I learn more about the father I never knew. This time was no different! Emotions overwhelmed me as Curator, Emmanuel Breon’s guided VIP tour reached my father’s display during the L’inauguration of the Art Deco Exhibit at Cite de l’architecture et du patrimoine on the evening of October 14th.
Our First Week in Paris
Our first week in Paris and so much has already happened! I will let Jenn fill you in on all the details at a later date but here are the quick highlights and some photos along the way.
We Are In Paris!
Yes we are in Paris! It’s beautiful although a bit cloudy here! Weather for the week is calling for some showers but in the high 50’s. We are excited to be here no matter what the weather! We left Saturday afternoon and landed on Sunday morning! (Love that international timeline!)
Reflections on the AMCA Project
These are my reflections on the AMCA Project. Jenn’s past blog introduced our working with the AMCA to create a website for my father’s work. You can read about the particulars in “AMCA Website Project.”
We Are Published!
On September 9th, Jenn’s blog was a heads- up that we would be in the International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS)’s “The Newsletter,”. We are published in Issue #65, Autumn 2013 Edition, pages 6-7!
AMCA Website Project!
Just when we’re getting ready to go to Paris, a new exciting project starts! Several months ago Rita Wong contacted us through our website and introduced us to AMCA (Archives of Modern Chinese Art) based in Taiwan. Apparently Professor Francesca dal Lago (who is on the advisory board) mentioned our research project to her.
News On A Personal Note…
News on a personal note…I am excited because this week, my PET Scan results came back negative, so still cancer free! I am especially excited because this was the first PET Scan that didn’t show any signs of cancer at all. The last scan I took did, whereupon I had to undergo a follow up…
We Will Be Published!
Yes, we will be published! The International Institute for Asian Studies (IIAS) will be publishing a 2-page spread about my grandfather and our family’s story in their Fall Newsletter. Hopefully this will be the first of many opportunities to share our story! I’m honored that my family entrusted me to write it!
