Singapore Exhibit Follow Up
This is our Singapore Exhibit follow up. The Singapore Heritage Week exhibit, “Lost Horizons: Art Deco Architecture of Singapore,” went very well! It went so well they are extending it to the end of September! So for those of you in Singapore, please take some time out of your busy day and enjoy!
Pictures of Westlake Expo 1929
As I promised in the blog. “Funny Thought of the Week“, here are some pictures of Westlake Expo 1929 of Grandfather’s renderings and actual buildings. I pulled them from the recent 400 page Westlake Expo picture book we acquired from China.
Returning To Paris!
I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the notion that we will be returning to Paris only a short two months from now. Back in February, when we were invited to display my father’s work at Cite de l’architecture & du patrimione in October, it seemed so far away.
Funny Thought of the Week…
We just received a book from China! It’s a large, 400 page hardcover illustrated book with captions in Chinese and English about the Westlake Expo of 1929 recently published. (Thank you to our friend Tongrun!)
Lost Horizons: Art Deco Architecture of Singapore
We will be participating in an exhibit in Singapore! And since Gayook lived in Singapore for over 6 months, this exhibit is doubly exciting for her. It gives her a chance to share her father’s work with her Singaporean friends and family.
Exciting News!
We have exciting news! This past week, our friend Jeff Cody returned from Paris where he picked up our first purchase of Liu’s work. We find it fitting because about a year and a half ago we met Jeff at the Getty Institute, Los Angeles.
Our Nanjing House Rediscovered!
Ok, so our Nanjing House Rediscovered isn’t quite accurate, we always knew it was there. No.9, Yi He Lu (頤和路), Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China was built in 1935 as a part of the Capital Plan
Lyon Library Research Results
Well we’ve been back for about a month now…has it really been that long?? We’ve been able to get back into the swing of things here in LA but we really miss Paris!
