I am extremely excited to announce that I will be going t Hong Kong March 2-March 8 to lecture at the opening of the new art exhibit being held at CityU Exhibition Gallery, “Art Deco – The France-China Connection”. The show runs from March 5, 2019 – June 30, 2019.
I will be saying a few words at the Exhibition Opening, Tuesday, March 5 at 4pm. The following day I will be lecturing on Liu Jipiao
Lecture:
- Date: March 6, 2-19
- Time: 2pm-4pm
- Location: Room 6208, Lau Ming Wai Academic Building, City University of Hong Kong, 83 Tat Chee Avenue, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon
I will be available if anyone would like to meet up that week.
It’s worthy to note that this year will be the 90th Anniversary of the Hangzhou Westlake Exposition! I am hoping that there will be some sort of commemoration at the CAA school in Hangzhou! I have put some feelers out but no response as of yet.
If anyone hears about anything, please let me know! Will keep you all updated!

Dear Liu Family,
My name is Chenchen Yan, a graduate student in the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University. I’m currently doing a research on Mr. Liu Jipiao and am fascinated by his pioneering ideas and artistic imagination. As I have been frustrated by a lack of information about him, I’m curious to know if there exist any family archives? If possible, I would also love to interview Ms. Jennifer Wong. Please reach me at cy2514@columbia.edu. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much.
All the best,
Chenchen
