Shanghai Daily News!

We got a write up in the Shanghai Daily News and it’s interesting that that out of all the wonderful lecturers, they only mentioned the Chinese ones (yes, including yours truly) It’s good to be in the majority 😉 It’s been a whirlwind here in China and I promise to post more stories and findings as I find the time and the WIFI access! The Congress was amazing and I met some wonderful people and received some heartfelt feedback from the participants! I was also able to visit the house where my mother was born in Shanghai.

Nanjing was wonderful! I’m finally catching up on some much needed rest. And still finding the time and energy to meet some new people and explore the city. Thank you to Professor Wang and Professor Fei for helping me find our family home! I will have to write a correction article at some point. We discovered it’s not 9 Yihe Lu but 11 Yihe Lu!! Professor Wang is going to try to gain access and take pictures soon 🙂  I thoroughly enjoyed giving my lecture at Southeast University School of Architecture. Thank you to all the students who made me feel so welcome!

Fun fact: Li Zongkan (Liu Jipiao’s business partner) designed the building that houses the Architectural Department.

I’m excited to keep traveling and learning about my grandfather in the coming weeks while in China and look forward to telling his story in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Australia and home in Los Angeles!

And yes, I have to get started on that book…
